INTRODUCTION:

Last Sunday we began chapter 12 of Revelation and I told you that chapters 12-13 were parenthetical chapters in between the sounding of the seventh trumpet and the events associated with its judgments on the earth.  These two chapters introduce us to some of the key characters of the Tribulation, and specifically to those of the Great Tribulation or the last 3½ years of the 7-year Tribulation, also called the Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

INTRODUCTION:

Last Sunday we began looking at the second part of the interlude between the sixth and seventh trumpet judgments.  In this second part we first saw the apostle John marking off a remnant of Jews for God.  In doing this God shows us that there is still a future for the nation of Israel, God is going to fulfill all the promises made to Israel, so as the judgment of God intensifies God will protect, preserve and show favor to this faithful remnant of Jews in the midst of the fury of His wrath poured out on the earth.

INTRODUCTION:

As we enter the Scriptures this morning I will admit that this chapter is not an easy chapter, but I am going to do my best to explain it to you.  If you read many commentators, you can find almost as many interpretations and opinions on this chapter as there are commentators.  But like we learned in Sunday School this morning, the commentators are not inspired like the Words of the Bible and so we will use God’s Word to try and make sense of God’s Word.

INTRODUCTION:

In just a few hours 2017 will pass away and 2018 will begin.  I could not leave 2017 and enter into 2018 without speaking to you about my favorite subject, the event that I anticipate more than anything else in the world, the event Paul calls the blessed hope in his letter to Titus.
