INTRODUCTION:
Last Sunday we looked at one of the sadder chapters of the Bible that portrayed Isaac and all of his family at a spiritually low point in their lives. Each contributed to the grief and disappointment that resulted from their sin. We ended last week’s message with a very angry Esau bent on murdering his brother just as soon as they buried their father and a distraught mother who wanted to get Jacob out of harm’s way by sending him to her father and brother in Paddan-Aram.
INTRODUCTION:
Have you ever known someone who was just a dirty, rotten scoundrel, but in spite of this it seemed that everything went his or her way. Maybe it is someone you have worked with, maybe it is that kid at school who never gets caught misbehaving. Their character is arrogant, selfish, and dishonest, yet they seem to get everything they want, a few decades ago we might have said it was if they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth.
EQUALLY YOKED
INTRODUCTION:
Suppose this morning we were to have a three-legged race here in the sanctuary. What if I teamed up Mercy with Jailynn (Grace with Marissa) as team one and Everon with Asher as team two, who do you think would have the advantage and win?

When we left Genesis just a little over a year ago Isaac had just married Rebekah and then in the first 11 verses of chapter 25 we read Abraham’s obituary and Last Will and Testament. This morning we want to pick up where we left off and like many of the places in Genesis when there is a shift of characters we find a genealogy.
