Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

We believe in the supernatural verbal and plenary inspiration of the Holy Bible - that they are inerrant; their teaching and authority are absolute, supreme, final, and complete;

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Peter 3:15-16; Hebrews 1:1-3: Revelation 22:18-19)

We believe in one God in three persons - God, the Father; God, the Son; and God, the Holy Spirit; (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Romans 3:29-30; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19-20; John 14:25-26)

We believe in the personality of God - the personality and deity of Jesus Christ, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, very God and very Man; the personality of the Holy Spirit;

(Isaiah 5: 16; 7:14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-34;John 1:1-2; 8:58; 17:5; Romans 8:3; 1 Corinthians 2:10–13: 15:45; Ephesians 2:4-5; 4:30; Philippians 2:6; Colossians 2:9-10; 1 John 4:8)

We believe in the sinfulness of Man - that all human beings are born with a sinful nature imputed from Adam, failing the test of pleasing God in any way, and in need of a Savior from sin;

(Psalm 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 1:28; 3:10-24; 5:12-13, 19; Ephesians 2:1-3)

We believe in the necessity of the new birth - Salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ, and not of works;

(John 3:3-7; 3:16, 18; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe in the Atonement - that Jesus Christ became the sinner's sacrifice before God reconciling man to God and that Christ died as the propitiation for the sins of the whole world;

(Romans 3:25-26; Hebrews 9:11-14; Ephesians 1:7; Romans 5:9-11; 1 John 2:2; 4:10)

We believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ - that His body was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and He ascended into Heaven and sits at the right hand of God as the believer’s Advocate;

(Matthew 16:21; Mark 16:19; Luke 24:50–51; Acts 1:9-11; 7:55-56; I Corinthians 15:1-8; Hebrews 1:3;8:1; 9:24; 1 John 2:1)

We believe that growth in faith through study of the Word will be reflected in good works which God has prepared for us;

(Ephesians 2:10; James 2:14; II Timothy 2:15)

We believe marriage is a holy covenant between one man and one woman set up by God with the specific purpose of glorifying Him by magnifying that relationship of covenant-keeping grace that exists between Christ and His Bride, the Church;

(Genesis 2:18; 2:21-24; Ephesians 5:22-33)

We believe in the literal resurrection of the body - both the saved and the unsaved;

(Isaiah 26:19-21; Daniel 12:1-2; John 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 John 3:2;

Revelation 20:4-6; 20:11-14)

We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost;

(Proverbs 11:7: Revelation 20:11-15; 21:1-8; 22:1–5)

We believe in the evangelization of the world - the supreme mission of the church in this age is to preach the Gospel to all people;

(Matthew 28:18-20; John 3:16; Acts 1:7-8; 2 Corinthians 5:17-6:2; I Peter 3:15)

And

We believe in the second coming of Christ according to the Scripture.

(Zechariah 14:1-9; Revelation 19:11-21)
