            Last Sunday I ended my message by talking about the millennial kingdom in which the Lord Jesus Christ will reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.  He will take the throne and rule and reign from the capital city of His kingdom, Jerusalem, and the saints will rule with Him.

            John does not spend a lot of time describing the millennium for us, and he does not need to because a careful study of the Old Testament prophets and even the Psalms reveal everything that God wants us to know about the millennium.

INTRODUCTION:

            Last Sunday we looked at the first of six objectives that make up the purpose of the second coming of Jesus Christ.  These six objectives cannot all be found in the book of Revelation, but as we go through our passage of Scripture this morning I will refer to the other objectives that are not in Revelation and share with you where those can be found.  Our Scripture reading this morning gave us a glimpse at one aspect that we can expect in the millennial kingdom, which I will also be talking about this morning.

            Several years ago, the board felt it necessary to add a new statement to our statement of faith defining what we believe marriage to be.  It was presented to the congregation along with a source document that further explained our position.  This morning by way of introduction to this message I would like to read the statement and a portion of the source document to set the tone for our passage in Revelation this morning.
